We’re counting down to Architecture Week 2025 in Northampton — and we can’t wait to welcome you! From 6th to 10th October, the iconic 78 Derngate will come alive with five days of talks, events, and conversations that celebrate architecture, heritage, community, and sustainable living.

This year’s programme brings together architects, designers, students, and the public to explore how great design can transform the way we live — from reimagining our homes to revitalising historic buildings and shaping the future of our cities.

What to Expect at Architecture Week 2025

Each day focuses on a unique theme, led by inspiring speakers and thought-leaders:

• Mon 6 Oct – Everyone’s Design
  Mathew Leung (Assemble) on the power of community-led design and why local voices matter in shaping places.

• Tues 7 Oct – Roots & Revival: Heritage & Community
  Madeleine Adams & Barbara Griffin-Wright share strategies for adapting historic sites for contemporary use while protecting their character.

• Wed 8 Oct – Your Home Retrofit
  Robert Prewett (Prewett Bizley Architects) guides us through practical steps to create healthier, low-carbon homes, based on his book Your Home Retrofit.

• Thurs 9 Oct – Biophilic Design
  Mark Stefan & Maggie Fennel Wells explore how landscapes and natural elements can transform urban spaces.

• Thurs 9 Oct – Learning to Love Drawing Buildings
  FridgeStreet founder tells her inspiring story of turning sketching into a Northampton-based illustration business.

• Fri 10 Oct – Future Architects: Where to Begin
  A vocational session designed for aspiring architects and students, offering skills, pathways, and advice for starting out in the profession.
