Case Study by MWK Architects
Apption Labs
How do you connect two buildings together and convert a plant hire warehouse into an office. Yet another demanding brief given to MWK Architects by Apption Labs, an innovative Hitech start-up firm who have developed a range of innovative food cooking probes. To connect the building, a new stair core & high level bridge was built between the two buildings connecting multiple levels via on oak and steel staircase. It now forms a dramatic entrance to the company’s offices.
The warehouse was completely refurbished with a new roof, glazed meeting rooms and a first floor staff restaurant.
The project posed multiple challenges, but by taking a pragmatic approach and embracing the different buildings characteristics, a design that reflected Apption Labs ethos was achieved.
