The Hope Centre

Morton Wykes Kramer were involved in the restoration of the Hemmingwell Community Centre, bringing the building back into community use. Previously run by the Wellingborough Council, it was neglected and under used. The building had extensive alterations in the internal layout to provide the centre with a new modern I.T classroom, workshops, refurbished toilet facilities, new reception area, kitchen and porch canopy. The refurbishment of the external appearance involved new signage, external windows, doors, external access ramps and landscaping to create a safe, central hub for local residents to learn new and essential skills. It was announced by Buckingham Palace that the Wellingborough based HOPE Project was to receive the Queen’s Award for Voluntary Service. This prestigious award has recognised the support that The HOPE Project has given to families and individuals on the Hemmingwell Estate.
