Meet Our Team

Dominic Kramer

Director

Dominic joined Morton Wykes Associates in 2008 and has led the practice for the last 10 years following the retirement of the founding partners. In that time, he has gained a wide range of experience leading commercial, educational and housing association projects.

Notably he has developed award winning low energy passive houses for Housing Associations, flagship showrooms for Honda, and led the regeneration of derelict areas of Northampton. Under his leadership the practice has recently completed the 78 Derngate visitors centre and major alterations to schools in Milton Keynes.

Dominic until recently served for six years as RIBA Council member for the East Midlands and has been a regular awards assessor for the RIBA. Dominic’s previous experience includes master planning, working on large scale residential projects and lecturing for over 10 years. His current role within the practice is to lead its design direction and be the first point of contact for new clients.

Valeria Bobadilla Maya

Architectural Assistant

Valeria, a qualified architect in Mexico, joined our practice in 2022. She brings a wealth of commercial experience to our team and over the last two years has been engaged in designing commercial buildings in Daventry, a SEND unit for West Northamptonshire Council and overseeing the construction of the 78 Derngate Visitors Centre.

In Mexico, Valeria gained a range of experience across various sectors, including the development of industrial warehouses, the restoration of UNESCO World Heritage buildings, and residential projects. Over the past two years in England, she has contributed to numerous projects in the Practice, primarily in the commercial, industrial, and educational sectors. She is keen on finding eco-friendly solutions and wherever possible implementing new technologies in our projects. Additionally, Valeria manages the events and marketing aspects of our practice.

She has achieved a Postgraduate Degree with Distinction in Professional Practice and Management in Architecture at the University of the West of England. Having successfully completed her RIBA Part 3 qualification, she is now awaiting registration with the Architects Registration Board (ARB) as a fully qualified architect. This will allow her to officially add a UK Architect qualification to her academic portfolio.

Carolyn Gillingham

Office Manager

Carolyn is our Office Manager and joined us at the end of 2021. Following a long career in the Civil Service, Carolyn took taken early retirement before joining MWK Architects looking for a fresh challenge. Her experience was gained working in Compliance and Enforcement and latterly led teams working within Operational Delivery. She now brings this vast experience to the operation and management of our office.

Carolyn is responsible for the smooth day-to-day organisation of all the administration tasks within the office enabling the Architects to deliver their projects. One of her main responsibilities is to ensure we maintain our Quality Assurance systems under ISO9001-2015.

Carolyn is interested in the systems orientated approach that we apply to aspects of our work. Many of our project take years to come to fruition and keeping track of this complicated process is often challenging. Carolyn is helping us to continually improve our established systems.

Amit Chhatralia

Architectural Technologist

Amit joined the practice as Senior Chartered Architectural Technologist. A Chartered Member of CIAT, he has a degree in Architectural Technology. He has more than 25 years of experience within the construction industry, in successfully delivered projects from inception to completion. A valued member of the team, he has strong leadership skills, a proven track record of efficiently managing projects and a comprehensive understanding of technical and regulatory requirements.

His projects include delivering retirement homes for the country’s leading developer, affordable housing and bespoke high-end houses. He is now leading the preparation of our technical and tender packages for our commercial projects. As our Revit expert he has helped the practice move all its projects from 2D drafting to 3D modelled BIM compliant computer image.

Amit also works closely with The University of Northampton and De Montfort University delivering construction & design lectures on their Architectural Technology degree courses.
