Case Study by MWK Architects

Kia Northampton

In response to the increasing demand for Kia motor vehicles, this project involved the expansion of the existing Kia showroom, to almost double its original size, from 214m2 to 364m2. We incorporated Kia’s corporate image by creating the concept of a “red box”, which involved creating an exterior envelope with glazing curtain walls, red LED lights and red panels. At night the “red box” concept maximises the showroom’s road side presence by capturing Kia’s identity. The transformation of the original showroom has allowed for an additional area for displaying cars, additional capacity for sales staff and further offices to ensure an exceptional customer experience.
